Trading Risk Disclosures

FXFunds advertises access to Forex, Commodities, Stocks, Indices, Cryptocurrencies, and Gold & Oil (website metadata, checked 2026-10-19). This page explains the general risks of each category. It is not FXFunds’ own risk disclosure, which had not been located at the last check (see register, REG-02 to REG-06).

Risks Common to All Markets

Forex

Currency prices move with interest rates, economic data, central bank decisions and political events. Markets trade around the clock on weekdays but can gap at the weekly open. Most retail forex trading uses leverage, which increases risk.

Stocks

Prices react to company results, news and corporate actions such as dividends, splits and mergers. Individual shares can fall sharply on a single announcement. Trading is limited to exchange hours, so prices can gap overnight.

Indices

An index tracks a basket of shares, so it is affected by the broad market and by its largest members. Index prices can gap at the open after overnight news, and derivative index prices may differ slightly from the official index level.

Commodities, Gold and Oil

Prices are driven by supply and demand, weather, inventories, geopolitics and currency moves. Oil can be extremely volatile: in April 2020 a US crude oil futures contract settled below zero. Prices offered online are often based on futures contracts, which can create rollover costs or price adjustments.

Cryptocurrencies

Crypto markets trade 24 hours a day, every day, and can move sharply at any time, including when traditional markets are closed. Liquidity varies between tokens and venues. Prices can be affected by regulation, exchange failures, hacks and changes to the underlying networks. See also cryptocurrency and stablecoin risks.

Leverage and Margin

Leverage lets you open a position larger than your deposit. It magnifies both gains and losses.

Leverage Margin used Adverse move that wipes out the margin
1:10 10% 10%
1:50 2% 2%
1:100 1% 1%
1:500 0.2% 0.2%

If your account equity falls below the required margin, positions may be closed automatically (stop-out), often at an unfavourable price. Check the platform’s leverage limits, margin call and stop-out levels, and whether your balance can go negative, in its official terms. These were not located publicly at the last check.
